Welcome to the new year! From transportation findings to redevelopment sites and considerations, there is a lot planned for Winnetka’s Downtown Master Plan in 2016. Here are some items and dates to add to your calendar!
Vision Statements – Coming Soon! Thanks to all the great feedback we’ve received to date, ‘Vision Statements’ for each of the three Business Districts are close to completion. The ‘Vision Statements’ relay the desired look, feel and function of each district. The Master Plan will serve as the guide to help each district realize their vision.
Monday, January 25th – Join us on Monday, January 25th for a presentation and discussion on ‘Parking and Circulation’ in Winnetka. Project Consultants from Sam Schwartz Engineering will present to the Steering Committee at Village Hall (510 Green Bay Rd) – start time is 7pm and it is open to the public. Come on out to listen and share your thoughts about parking, access and transit. Not able to attend? Share your comments and upload photos via the ‘Idea Zone’ tool.
Monday, February 29th – Redevelopment Sites Workshop #1 | This is a workshop not to be missed. The event will focus on key redevelopment sites in the Village’s business districts. Why they were chosen, what opportunities they pose, and what should be developed. Details regarding time and place are in the works — stay tuned!
Remember – All steering committee meetings are open to the public. At the end of every meeting there is ‘open mic’ time for you to provide your comments and suggestions. Please visit the project calendar for a complete listing of upcoming meetings.
